Thin-cut pork chops can be cooked quickly for an easy meal. You can add a pan gravy over skillet pork chops for dinner in 20 minutes.
Jump to RecipeQuick meals for those busy weeknights are perfect options to get a homecooked meal on the table while still making it to all the after-school activities. Or maybe when you’re exhausted from the day and need something easy yet delicious to finish the evening. When you can make everything in one pan, that’s even better because you have fewer dishes to clean.
We like to keep a few things on hand that can be made fairly quickly. Boneless thin-cut pork chops cook up in only a few minutes. Since they are thin, it doesn’t take long for them to get up to the temperature to be cooked through.
But just plain pork chops would be boring. Sometimes I like to pair them with stuffing to make Unstuffed Pork Chops. And when I was doing my month of Harry Potter-themed recipes a few years ago, we made Dumbledore’s Apple and Sage Pork. That was the first time I had apple flavoring with pork and was surprised at how well it went together. For that reason, I also tried pineapple with pork on the grill.
This time, I wanted something as quick as I could. We love making pan gravy with meals as it can be so quick and easy. But to keep with that apple flavor on the pork chops, I added a bit of apple cider vinegar.
As written, this recipe is dairy-free and gluten-free. If you don’t want or need those restrictions, you could use all-purpose flour in place of the brown rice flour which would make it not gluten-free. The only dairy replacement would be regular butter for the vegan butter.

Skillet Pork Chops with Pan Gravy Step by Step
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp brown rice flour
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1 lb pork chops, thin cut
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 2 tsp honey
- 1 tbsp butter, vegan

Preparation
Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the brown rice flour, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and pepper.

Press both sides of each pork chop in the seasoning mixture to coat then place in the warm pan.
Cook for about 5 minutes, until the bottom starts to sear.

Flip the pork, reduce the heat to medium-low, then cover the skillet and cook another 5-10 minutes, depending on the thickness of the pork chops, until cooked through.

Remove the pork chops from the pan and cover to keep warm.
Add the chicken broth, apple cider vinegar, and honey to the pan, making sure to scrape any stuck bits of pork or seasoning from the pan into the gravy.

Bring to a simmer and cook for about 5-10 minutes, until reduced by half.
Remove the pan from the heat and add the butter, stirring until it just melts.

Place the pork back in the pan and flip at least once so the gravy is on both sides of the pork.

Serve immediately with more gravy spooned over the pork chops garnished with parsley if desired.

Skillet Pork Chops with Pan Gravy Leftovers
Storage: Place the skillet pork chops with pan gravy in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 2-3 days. The pork will absorb some of the gravy, but that will just make it more flavorful when you eat the leftovers.
Reheating: I suggest putting everything back into a skillet and heating over medium-low heat until just heated through. If the gravy gets too thick, add a splash of chicken broth to thin it out.
Freezing: To freeze, make sure to leave space at the top of your container because the gravy will rise slightly as it freezes. After thawing, the gravy will likely separate so you’ll have to whisk it together again as you heat it.
