Pizza has always been one of my favorite foods, and now I can make it at home. I love the versatility of this pizza to fit it to everyone’s tastes.
Jump to RecipeA few years ago, at my wedding shower, I was gifted with a bread machine. I didn’t realize just how much I would end up using it! I love making fresh bread to go with a lot of our meals. But more than that, I use this dough recipe that came with the machine. The original recipe did not include the extra seasonings, but we like the added flavor that it adds to the crust.
Pizza is one of my weaknesses when it comes to food. This recipe makes it easy for me to customize dinner to just how we want it. For example, I like ricotta cheese on mine, but most pizza delivery places don’t use ricotta. I’m sure you could also make this recipe by hand, but I have never really done that so can’t tell you what to do differently.
The boys get so excited when it’s pizza night. They love helping me roll out the dough and pick out their toppings. Well, I should say they like to help prepare Justin’s because he uses all the toppings. The boys and I only like cheese on our pizza.
The recipe for the dough makes a large amount. These are usually two or three meals for each of us, and that’s with cutting this dough into quarters when we bake. Try this pizza recipe the next time you have guests over. There is enough dough to make an individual serving for at least eight people, and it can be a fun time to each make your own pizza.

Homemade Pizza with a Bread Machine Step by Step
Ingredients
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp active dry yeast
- 1 3/8 cup water
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 2 tbsp Italian seasoning
- Pizza toppings: sauce, cheese, meats, veggies, etc.

Preparation
Set up the bread machine as directed and add all of the ingredients except your pizza toppings to the baking pan. Select the dough setting on your bread machine and let it run through that cycle. Machines will vary. Mine takes one and a half hours to make the dough.

When the bread machine is done, preheat the oven to 400F. L

Knead the dough a few times by hand. Gently roll out the dough into a large circle or square. Place on a baking stone or sheet.

Use a pizza cutter to cut the dough into smaller pieces. We like to make at least one pizza for each person. Smaller pieces are also easier to work with and move for baking.

Spread the pizza sauce and desired toppings out on each piece of pizza.

Bake for about 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the crust is cooked.

Great pictures of the pizza! Have you tried different flour types?
My wife and I are always experimenting with whole grains and gluten free flours.
Thank you! We have tried it with all-purpose flour and whole wheat flour. I don’t really taste a difference, so we usually stick with the whole wheat flour. I haven’t tried any gluten-free because no one in my household has a gluten allergy so haven’t needed to try it. If you try it, let me know how it works, my grandmother has celiacs and would love to know she could make some pizza!
