BBQ Waffle Chips

Use just 3 easy ingredients to make your own BBQ Waffle Chips at home. They are fun to make, and taste better than a bag from the store.

Ingredients

  • 1 baking potato large
  • 1 cup oil
  • 2 tbsp bbq seasoning

Instructions

  • Clean the potato
  • Attach the crinkle cutter to a mandolin slicer
  • Cut the end off of the potato for a flat start and slice it on the slicer to get your potato started
  • Rotate the potato 90 degrees on the slicer (you will be slicing against the way you just did the first cut)
  • This is what gives the waffle cut to the chips
  • Continue turning and slicing until you use the entire potato
  • Meanwhile, heat the oil in a deep frying pan on high, until it reaches about 350 degrees
  • Once the oil is hot enough, place some of the sliced potatoes in for about 3 minutes, flipping as needed
  • Place the chips on a wire rack to dry and continue to fry the rest of the chips
  • After the chips have dried and cooled, put them in a large mixing bowl and sprinkle with bbq seasoning
  • Gently toss to coat and serve
