Simple recipes are the best, especially when you are making them to share. When I worked in a doctor’s office years ago, we did a lot of potluck lunches. I usually made my taco dip because everyone asked for it, but would sometimes branch out to other recipes.

Another favorite is sweet meatballs. They are easy to make and delicious!

This recipe couldn’t be easier. Measure out your ingredients, dump it all in the slow cooker, and let it cook. You may want to give it a stir occasionally, just to prevent any sticking. But, there have been times I forget to stir and haven’t had an issue.

Using the slow cooker for a potluck recipe is also nice because you can plug it in and keep it on warm. Then you don’t have to worry about your sweet meatballs getting cool or drying out since they are still in the warm sauce.

Slow Cooker Sweet Meatballs FAQs

What type of meatballs work best?

I like to use the frozen package of meatballs. They cook up well, and add to the simplicity of the meal. Typically, I buy the “homestyle” meatballs because they don’t have extra flavors in it. This allows the flavor in the sauce to be dominant.

Can I use a different type of soda?

Yes. I have only used coca-cola when I make these, but other brands should work. Just make sure you don’t purchase diet or flavored soda.

Awesome recipe! Everyone loved it. This will be my second time making this. But, this time, I’ll be serving a couple diabetics. Do you think this would work with sugar free jelly?

  2. These look so delicious. We make these for parties and get togethers. I’ve never used Coca Cola only grape jelly and chili sauce. Definitely gonna try them with Coca Cola next time.

I know you mentioned that this is just an appaetizer but here in my country, this could already work as a main course dish haha.. Just include a rice and we are good to go.. This looks really delicious and savory..
