Our favorite fruit is strawberries at our house. We all love strawberries with any meal. Because of this, a Simple Strawberry Yogurt Parfait makes a perfect breakfast.

When strawberries are in season, the price goes way down and the size of the berries goes way up. We will buy them when they are off-season, but can’t keep them in stock at our house during peak season.

We like to add a bit of granola to our Simple Strawberry Yogurt Parfait, but it’s not necessary. I like to make homemade granola most of the time. If we don’t have it, I buy oats and honey cereal and it makes great granola.

We ate delicious granola when we were on vacation last summer, but I haven’t been able to find anything similar. All they told us at the restaurant was “help granola”. I’ve looked online and in store for some, and the few we’ve tried haven’t been the same. For now, I stick to my homemade granola most of the time.

Step by Step

Scoop about 1 cup of yogurt into a mason jar or bowl. If you are making these to save for later, or want something to grab quickly, a glass jar works best. If you are planning to eat immediately, then a bow works fine. The boys wanted theirs right away, so we made theirs in a bowl for them.

Cut up the strawberries and place them on top of the yogurt.

  1. The simpler the better! I love parfait and I will be making these with soy yogurt! I have a bag of frozen strawberries in my fridge that I can use up as well! Perfect!

  2. I’ll take an easy meal any day of the week and with school around the corner this is bound to be popular. Both my kids love yogurt and this is a sure way to give it a healthy and hearty punch.

  3. Ah! This is my favorite go-to recipe when I’m out of options. I also loved the other parfait recipe you posted recently. My daughter loved it.

  4. 5 stars
My kids are always requesting homemade parfait and I love that this recipe uses fresh strawberries! It looks easy to make and perfect for my kids!

  5. This is my favorite dessert that I eat almost every day. Sometimes I put banana slices or grated apples instead of strawberries. The simpler, the better.

  6. Simple, healthy, easy and delicious. Strawberries in the summer are the best. Your son is preparing to be zn excellent chef. He has those strawberries finely cut.

  7. This is basically my breakfast every morning, when it’s not oatmeal weather. I usually skip the granola unless my hubby has just made a fresh batch of his signature recipe. And while I have plenty of strawberries in May-June, I tend to move through the seasons with the fruits – so then blueberries, then raspberries, and right now I’m mostly doing peaches. #yum

    1. That sounds great! I love fresh granola, it’s such a great addition to parfaits like this. And going through the seasonal fruit is the best way to always have a fresh taste and the cheapest produce!
