Homemade strawberry lemonade is the perfect drink to make on a hot summer day. Fresh strawberries and lemon flavors add to the summertime vibes on warm days.
Any time we go out to eat, Tyler and Ryan order strawberry lemonade or pink lemonade if it’s available. They don’t care if it is a warm day or freezing outside. It’s their favorite drink any time of the year so it was finally time to try to make our own. I’ve made regular homemade lemonade before, and strawberry-infused drinks. It wasn’t too hard to combine those together to come up with a way to make delicious strawberry lemonade at home.
Using fresh strawberries gives the lemonade the best flavor. During strawberry season, we can get some huge strawberries around here! When possible, it’s also best to use fresh lemons for your lemon juice and lemon slices.
Making a pitcher of this homemade strawberry lemonade recipe is enough for about 5 cups of lemonade. You can easily make a double batch by increasing everything. It scales really well if you are having a get-together.
I prefer the lemonade cold, but if you have it out for a while you may want to also have a bowl of ice cubes ready for serving.

When you make this easy drink recipe at home, you can add some of your favorite things to the mix.
- Crush fresh mint leaves and add for a minty flavor
- Increase or decrease the amount of sugar as needed
- Add more fresh fruit to your lemonade
- Instead of sugar and water, make a simple syrup instead
- Add strawberries to it for strawberry syrup
- Use agave nectar in place of sugar for a healthier kind of sweetener
- Add white wine or champagne for a refreshing summer cocktail
Simple Strawberry Lemonade Step by Step
Ingredients
- 2 cups ripe strawberries (1 lb)
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice
- 5 cups cold water
- 1 lemon, sliced
Preparation
Use a blender or food processor to make a strawberry puree.Â
Add the sugar, lemon juice, and 5 cups of water to the strawberry mixture then mix in a large pitcher.
Garnish the cup with a sugar rim and lemon slice if desired and serve cold.
Simple Strawberry Lemonade Leftovers
Storage: Store leftover strawberry lemonade in the refrigerator and drink within 2-3 days.
