Myth vs Fact: Family Memories in a Digital Future

Family Memories in a Digital Future: Myth vs Facts

This post is about the company Legacy Republic, of which I am an independent consultant. Even though it is part of what I do, I wholeheartedly believe in this company and the services we can offer your family.

The Legacy Republic community celebrates the family connections made through reliving and sharing memories. We protect yesterday’s treasured moments, so they may be enjoyed for generations to come.

This is a video of my grandparents dancing at their wedding over 52 years ago that we recovered through Legacy Republic. How many people can say they have the opportunity to be a “guest” at their grandparent’s wedding?

How have your family memories been captured throughout the years?

  • Videotapes
  • VHS
  • 8mm
  • Betamax
  • Photo Prints
  • Slides
  • Negatives
  • MiniDVD
  • Movie Film Reels
  • Photo Albums
  • Scrapbooks

Do you have a way to watch those now?
When was the last time you watched your old family memories?
How have they been stored all these years?
Are they collecting dust and mold?

My Family Memories are safe

As long as the media is in a “safe place” they will be good for future generations.
On average, your videotapes, photos, and slides start to decay after only 10 years!

Potential Loss IS Real

“It won’t happen to me.”
“I can do this myself”
“I don’t know where to start.”

  • Fear
  • Procrastination
  • Financial Resources
  • Lack of Trust with Service Providers
  • Fire
  • Flood
  • Hurricane/Tornado

“I Can Do It Myself”

  • Takes a lot of time
  • Costs a lot of money (think equipment)
  • Takes a lot of patience
  • Requires discipline to actually get it done
  • Quality is usually lacking
  • Storage options are limited
Legacy Republic benefits:

  • Cloud Storage + archive DVD
  • Family Legacy Account
  • Share with up to 5 people
  • Personalized help
  • Secure Memory Factory
  • Clean and enhancement
  • High quality

Cloud Storage through Legacy Republic’s Family Legacy Account

  • External backup of all your files
  • Access from anywhere
  • Easy to share
  • Uses Amazon’s secure servers
  • Free with your transfers
  • Never deleted, even if you don’t log in
  • Future-proof

  • Have to remember a password
  • Need internet connection
  • It can be “scary”

Next Steps:

Want a little? Place an order.

Make sure your family’s precious memories are properly being preserved and future-proofed to be able to share with generations to come. As an independent consultant for Legacy Republic, I can help you get these memories transferred and back into your lives in a few simple ways:

Easiest: Memory Makeover Kit

If you go to the Memory Makeover Kit section on my webpage, you can order one of three sizes that fit your current needs. This is the easiest way to get your memories transferred. Once you place the order, Legacy Republic will ship a box to you with all the labels and packing materials you need. Securely package your memories and bring them to your nearest UPS store. They will be sent to our Memory Factory in either California or Georgia (depending on where you live) to be transferred. Once the transfer is complete, you will get an email with your Family Legacy account information and your originals and DVDs will be in the mail back to you.

Still Easy: Place an Order

If a kit is not best for you, then you have the option to place an order for however many or few memories you want to send in at that time. This is great if you want to try out the service with just one thing, or if you have something that can’t go in the kit such as a photo album. If you place a regular order, you are not given the material to pack your memories. Anyone local to the Houston area can bring their memories to me, or I can meet you, and I have the necessary packing supplies as well.

Want a lot? Host a get-together.

As with almost any direct sales company, you can host a get-together through Legacy Republic and earn host credits towards your orders while helping family and friends make sure their family memories aren’t lost as well. Local to Houston? Great, we can do an in-person get-together at your home or somewhere such as a Panera Bread. Not local? No problem! We can do a virtual get-together through facebook, google hangout, skype, etc. and still earn your host credits. More information can be found here.

Want it all? Become a Legacy Maker!

I am always looking for enthusiastic people to help spread our mission to save memories! Legacy Republic is a wonderful company to work with, they have amazing support for their Legacy Makers, and are a lot of fun. You can get paid doing what you love, create your own hours, earn commission on your sales, and there is no inventory to manage! When you sign up to be a Legacy Maker, you also are given credits to get your first transfers done, so in the end, it doesn’t cost you anything and you can join all the fun. Currently, we have an incentive going to win a trip to California, who wants to go with me?!
