2017 Garden Update #2: A Little Bit of Green

Well our garden is starting to bounce back a little bit after the freeze we got a couple weeks ago. I am seeing a little bit of green on some of the plants. And of course, the canna lilies are the most resilient plants I have ever seen. They have a lot of green already!

Everything in the herb garden is starting to grow now that it’s had a lot of rain this past week as well as a good amount of sun.

Yes, I know there’s nothing there to see. But we have had so much rain lately, it really helped to pack the dirt in. We thought we were going to have to take some dirt out of the garden bed, but now it should be good.

No, it’s not much, but that’s a little bit of promise right there!

I swear, the canna lilies are like the cockroaches of the plant world. No matter what you do, you just can’t kill them!!

Do you see it? Do you see that sliver of green on the banana tree? These are what I am most worried about losing, so this gives me a bit of hope that they will make a comeback as well!

I didn’t realize aloe plants have such pretty flowers on them! I have never had an aloe plant before so didn’t know they flower as well!

I have started making my list of what I want to attempt to grow in the garden this year. Some of it is the same as what I tried to grow last year, and some will be new to me. We have a second garden bed now, so more room.
